The Department of Zoology, Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce for Women celebrated the National Wildlife Week 2023 to promote conservation of wildlife. The theme for the year 2023 for wildlife week celebrations was “Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation“. The event was celebrated by organizing an Inter Class Quiz on Wildlife of Indian Subcontinent and Photography Competition on the theme ‘Backyard biodiversity’.
Students across the streams enthusiastically participated in the event on 05th October 2023. We had 06 teams for the final round. The final round took place in the IQAC room at 10.30 am. The event started with a prayer, followed by an address on the importance of the National Wildlife Week by the Head of the Department, Dr Manoj Borkar. The quizmasters for the event were Ms. Karen Braganza and Ms. Pratiksha Sail. We had 17 entries for the photography competition and the quiz was thoroughly enjoyed by all present. Mrs Vinita D’Sa, presented the prizes to the winners.
