The Department of Psychology at Carmel College of Arts, Science, and Commerce for Women, Nuvem, organized an exciting and educational event, “Psychomania”, on 11th September 2023. The event introduced participants to the fascinating world of cognitive psychology, which aimed at creating a love for psychology among students. Psychomania brought together students from 11 schools and higher secondary schools across South Goa. More than 400 students participated in the event.
Psychomania actively engaged students in interactive and thought-provoking activities that provided insights into the intricacies of the human psyche. Through a series of over 30 psychology experiments, participants had the opportunity to delve into the depths of human psychology and gain a deeper understanding of human cognition.
The event commenced at 9:00 AM with a prayer by Ms. Elsa Mascarenhas and her team. Dr. Sr. Maria Lizanne A.C, the Officiating Principal of Carmel College, warmly welcomed the students, following which Dr. Michelle Fernandes highlighted the significance of Psychomania. Ms. Priyanka Rodrigues compared.
Students had the opportunity to participate in various psychology experiments, ranging from optical illusions to memory games. Each experiment offered a unique perspective on how the brain processes information.
