The Department of Commerce of Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce for Women Nuvem, Goa organized a Young Entrepreneurs Fair (YEF) 2023 on 3rd August 2023 in the college premises. The fair was organized as an assignment for ISA 1 in the Entrepreneurship Development course, for the S.Y B.Com students.
The primary aim of the YEF is to give a hands- on practical exposure to students on setting and managing a business venture, The students are encouraged to explore their entrepreneurial skills and use their creativity and be innovative. The YEF saw participation from 16 groups who set up stalls showcasing their products. The stalls included food and beverages, desserts, clothing, and accessories.
Each group created brochures that outlined their group name and products for marketing their products. The groups promoted their products through college Instagram page, Wats-app groups and college display TV. The participating students were allowed to keep the profits earned from the sales.
This event not only helped in building their confidence but also in developing certain skills like organizing, communication, marketing and teambuilding and management skills. The event was a grand success and was appreciated by the students and staff.
