As a part of our institutional mandate of community outreach, the Department of Zoology, Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce organised a “FREE EYE CHECK-UP CAMP” in association with Rotary Club of Margao Sunrise and ASG Hospital, Caranzalem on May 14, 2022. More than 200 beneficiaries had registered from the village of Nuvem, including more than 60 Senior Citizens. 100 participants were provided with vouchers for free consultation at the ASG hospital, Caranzalem, Panaji.
The event was patronised by Dr. Sr. Maria Lizanne A.C. Officiating principal, Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce for Women, convened by Dr. Manoj R. Borkar, Head, Department of Zoology, Co-convened by Mrs. Marie Rodrigues, President of Roatry Club of Margao Sunrise and organised by Ms. Swizzle Furtado, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology. This Community outreach programme was a huge success based on the feedback received from the beneficiaries, with requests to have more such health camps in the future.
