To commemorate Peace Day on 30th January 2021, the Department of History organised a programme at 9 am below the College Administrative Block, to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi- the Father of the Nation, who was assassinated on this day in the year 1948.

The programme began with Mr. Agnelo Dias, faculty of the Department of History, welcoming the audience and highlighting the importance of the day. This was followed by a floral tribute to the Mahatma, by Principal Dr. Aldina Braganza, Vice Principal Dr. Sr. Maria Lizanne AC, Head of Department History Ms. Leila Ribeiro, other faculty members and students.

The popular bhajan Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram dear to Bapu’s heart, was sung by the gathering. Mr Meetal Raikar- Assistant Professor- Department of Mathematics , delivered a speech on certain facets of Mahatma Gandhi, which are well acknowledged world wide.
