The Goa State Innovation Council conducted a Women Centric Seminar at Carmel College on the 17th of February 2023 from 12 noon to 2:00 pm. The aim of the seminar was to promote the importance of innovations and start-ups amongst the students and to make them aware of the various schemes that are in place and also how to convert their idea into a start-up or business. A total of 74 students from T.Y.B.A and T.Y.B.Sc attended the seminar.

The seminar began by invoking the blessings of the almighty. Ms. Pearl dos Santos of the Department of Chemistry led audience with a meaningful prayer. Dr. Daniel Coutinho then introduces the three resource persons for the seminar.

The first speaker of the session was Mr. Rajdutt Kenkre. He introduced the students to GSInC and gave an overview of the history, working and functioning of the GSInC. He also made the students aware of how they can approach the GSINC, the protocols that they have to follow so that their idea/innovation could be converted to successful start-up.

The second speaker of the day was Ms. Poonam Shirsat. Ms. Shirsat is the founder of the Skill Company and Co-founder of the Amon Ra training Services LLP. This session focus on the creation of idea/innovations. Ms. Shirsat gave the students ways how to convert an idea into a sustainable innovation or a start-up.

The third session was conducted by Ms. Kanan Tandi. Ms. Tandi is the cofounder of CongiCue. She spoke to the students of the importance of facial expressions and body language and that the students should not get influences with body structures as shown on television and in magazines. Ms. Tandi also spoke about her start-up and how micro facial expression and body expressions can be used to detect fraudsters and criminals.

The seminar concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Daniel Coutinho. The program ended at 2:00 p.m.
