The Postgraduate Department of Food Technology organised the second cycle of the PG Sports Day – Invictus 2.0 on the 21st of October 2022 in the College gymkhana. A total of 108 students across all PG streams participated in the event. The event was coordinated with the support of Mr Vincy and Mr Blaise and event coordinators Ms Gandha Gharse and Mr Kunal Gauns of M.Sc. II.
The following sports contests were conducted: Badminton, Pool, Table Tennis, Skipping, Tug-of-war, Chess, Arm wrestling, Relay (4×100 m), and Ring (Ringanni). Badminton was played as Women’s singles, Men’s Singles and Mixed Doubles. Pool and Table tennis tournaments were organized for Women and Men as a singles matches. Arm-wrestling and relay races were held as women-only segments and the rest (Chess, ring and tug-of-war) were held as mixed games. Ms Nezlyn Cressida D’Souza inaugurated the event with a welcome address. The teams that participated in the event were M.Sc. I, M.Sc. II, M.A. I, M.A. II and M.Com. – M.Com. played as a team composed of Part I and II students due to lesser student strength.
The M.Com. team emerged as team winners followed by M.Sc. II as the first runner-up and M.A. I was the second runner-up. The winners of individual events were awarded Cadbury chocolates, and the overall winners were presented with the rolling trophy by Ms Nezlyn D’Souza. Ms Nezlyn D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks and the event coordinators presented Mr Vincy and Mr Blaise with a token of appreciation.
