INTERCOLLEGIATE KONKANI POETRY RECITATION COMPETITION

The Konkani Department of Carmel College held its annual intercollegiate Konkani poetry recitation competition “Pavsotsav” on 9thAugust 2019, in the college auditorium at 10.30am. In all, 8 participants from five various colleges participated in the competition. The topic on which the poetry had to be recited was “Rain”. Participants had to pen down their own poems and then recite them before the audience. The objective of this competition was mainly an opportunity to inculcate within the students, the love of writing in Konkani and to help them to acquire and promote their skill of public speaking to a higher level. In addition, the competition allows the students to ignite the flame to the writer within them.

 

PRINCIPAL, STAFF AND JUDGES WITH THE PARTICIPANTS.

The Principal, Dr.Sr.Aradhana A.C. welcomed all the audience. The judges obtained for the competition were Ms Sajani D,costa, a professor from commerce department and Ms Adlina Rodrigues, an ex student of Carmel College who presently teaches as a Konkani teacher in Rosary Higher Secondary School. They were offered flower vases as a token of appreciation by the students of T.Y.
