As an integral part of the syllabus, the Konkani department arranged a field trip for the Major, Minor, DSC and Honors’ students on 19th February, 2024 to Anna’s Tropical Spice Plantation at Arl, Kerim Ponda. Honors’ students are studying the owner of the plantation as one of the life sketches from their syllabus. The students were divided into two groups and were given a guided tour of the place. After visiting the spice plantation the students interacted with Anna. Later the group proceeded to Old Goa, the place featured in Adv.Uday Bhembre’s novel ‘Vhoddlem Ghor’. They were able to see the ‘Haath Khatro’ where the converts’ limbs were supposed to have been slayed by the Portuguese. They then visited churches and later returned home with an enriched experience. 39 students were accompanied by faculty Ms.Queenie Viegas, Mr.Ambar Naik, Ms.Sujata Kambli and Mr.Vishwapratap Pawar.
