Seventy-three students of Second Year B.Com were taken on a field trip to Mall de Goa and Caculo Mall on 11th October 2023 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. The objective of the field trip was to facilitate experiential learning in the subject of Consumer Behaviour and Retail Management.
The mall visits included observing consumer buying patterns, understanding the influence of marketing strategies, and analysing consumer decision-making processes. Students were required to analyse various stores’ visual merchandising techniques. They also observed how product placement and store layout influenced customer engagement.
This visit helped students observe the role of emotions in purchasing decisions, understand the impact of branding, and the effects of social influence on consumer choices. It helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world experiences. Ms.Gladys D’Souza and Ms.Yakshita Vengurlekar accompanied the students on the field trip.
