The Department of Commerce organized a 30-hour Bridge Course for slow learners of First Year B. Com on the basics of accounting theory and practice. The course was taught by Sr. Maria Janet A.C and Ms. Nicole Marie Coutinho. A total of 27 students enrolled for the Bridge Course. The course began on the first of February 2023 and ended on the 6th of March 2023. The objective of the course was to help the students to understand the theoretical basis of accounting and to apply the theories studied to solve practical accounting problems. The topics that were covered under the course were:
- Conceptual Framework of Accounting- accounting principles, concepts, conventions and assumptions.
- Basic Accounting Procedures- golden rules of accounting and the preparation of journal, ledger and trial balance.
Two tests were administered to the students based upon the matter covered during the class.
