The Department of English of Carmel College for Women, Nuvem, Goa organised the annual two-day, off-stage and on-stage literary event, ‘Litzkrieg – an inter-class literary festival’ on April 6 and 7, 2022. Litzkrieg comprised of three off-stage events namely ‘Crossword’, ‘Tell-A-Tale’, and ‘Poetic Pandemonium’ conducted on April 6, 2022 and two on-stage events, that is ‘Fancy-Fiesta’ and ‘Roast-Or-Be-Roasted’ on April 7, 2022.
The literary festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from students. This event aimed to encourage maximum participation, and to tap into the creative, literary sides of participants. The event also intended to ensure student collaboration in group activities so as to put up a united front as a class. Crossword witnessed a total of 120 participants from across all divisions, while 40 students participated in Fancy-Fiesta. A total of 12 participants delivered their Roast while a total of 67 entries were received for Poetic Pandemonium and a total of 32 entries for Tell-A-Tale were received. Overall, the event was a huge success, witnessing a large amount of student participation, which was a strong aim of ‘Litzkrieg’.
Ms. Runa Menezes, Ms. Sarah Fernandes, and Ms. Lorraine Correia were judges for the on-stage events, ‘Fancy-Fiesta’ and Roast-Or-Be-Roasted’. The event was hosted by students of TY, Ms. Janice Lopes and Ms. Larissa Teles. The overall trophy was bagged by FYBA- A division. The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Ms. Rainha Pereira.
