The consumer welfare cell was started in 1998 by the founder Dr. Sr. Aradhana AC. It was opened to discuss matters useful for students as consumers aswell as general consumers.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE CELL
- To develop an active involvement in social issues affecting consumer welfare.
- To extend the activities of the college to the society.
- To develop student leadership.
- To provide a platform for registering consumer reports or complaints.
- To mould students into more educated and enlightened citizens.
- To increase the awareness of consumer rights.
The different activities organised by the consumer welfare cell are as follows:
- Talk on Consumer Protection Act 1986
- Session on issues facing women
- Demonstration on healthy and nutritious cooking
- Consumer awareness through consumer education
- Road safety patrol training
- Road safety awareness action
- Visit to Consumer Redressal forum, South goa
- Skit competition
- Financial literacy
