The Department of History organized a State Level Workshop on Applications of Blooms Taxonomy in Teaching and Learning on 19 th October 2019. The function began with the lighting of the traditional lamp, after which Principal Dr. Sr. Aradhana AC welcomed the gathering. HOD of History Ms. Leila Ribeiro introduced the resource person Dr. Nandkumar Sawant- Principal of Parvatibai Chowgule College, who was also assisted by two other resource persons Dr. Nandini Vaz Fernandes and Mr. Andrew Baretto.
     

Dr. Sawant explained that the objective of the workshop was  the planning and structuring of teaching and learning; it is a classification dealing with hierarchy, which enables teachers to motivate students from a lower to a higher order of learning. Through PPT presentation, lecture format, pedagogy, assessment procedures, cognitive skills, and employers’ expectations were highlighted to the audience. Lecturers were then divided into groups to discuss the order of teaching and learning.

Dr. Sawant emphasized the fact that employers seek to employ candidates with attributes such as fluent speaking and writing of English, creative thinking and questioning, innovative learning skills, professionalism and ethics. He concluded by urging lecturers to motivate students by being appreciative of their efforts. The function ended with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Assistant Professor Mr. Sanford Pereira.
