Nuvem based Carmel College for Women organized a pet care and adoption camp in association with Goa Animal Welfare Trust (GAWT) on the 15th February 2020. The event was held under the aegis of Department of Zoology with the objective of sensitizing the students and community towards ethical treatment of pets and stray animals. The event also arranged for adoption of pups and a talk and demo on pet care by Dr. Ashwini Prabu of GAWT. Various pet care products were on display and sale on stall put up by Mascot Pet Store. The event was addressed by Vice Principal, Dr. Sr. Maria Lizanne and the Head of the Zoology department, Dr. Manoj Borkar. The president of Goa Animal Welfare Trust (GAWT), Mr. Suresh Kakodkar spoke on the event. the faculty and student of the dept of zoology played an active role in the organization of the event. During the event, free checkup and subsidized vaccines were made available. |
