Swami Chidanandaji, chief resource person of the forum ‘Flame of Who Am I?’ (fowai.org), spoke to the students and staff of Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce for Women, Nuvem, Goa on the topic ‘Total Well-being’  on 18th January 2020.

Inspired by the philosophy taught by the Vedas, Swamiji spoke to the gathering on how to live a life of harmony between mind, body and soul. He gave practical tips on crisis resolution, anger management, and communication breakdown. His five tenets were, 1) Understand your emotions 2) Manage your emotions 3) Understand the other person’s emotions 4) Manage the other person’s emotions and 5) Introspection. Swamiji emphasized the cultivation of awareness. Scrutiny of one’s behaviour may reveal one’s own biases and prejudice, he said. After the discourse Swamiji offered his views on J. Krishnamurti and Anthony de Mello S.J. Swamiji drew on his childhood experiences in Udupi to exemplify his points. Based in Solan, H.P. Swamiji’s visit provided an invaluable commentary (and antidote) to our frenetic lives.
