That Sounds Better! A Voice, Speech and Public Speaking workshop for age groups between 10-18 yrs was held at Ravindra Bhavan, Black Box from Oct 28 – Nov 2 2019. For 6 days students from different Schools and Higher Secondary around Margao, came together to talk, read, act, emote; exploring the magic of their bodies and voices.
Participants did breathing and physical theatre exercises, sight reading, individual and choral recitation of famous poems, literary extracts and speeches under the guidance of Speech and Drama Trainer – Ms Roxana Singh. Co conductor, Goa’s ace MC, compere and host Updesh Swar mentored the participants on body language & nonverbal communication, listening & responding, analysing an audience, answering interviews and hosting an event. All workshop components were conducted through practical exercises, role plays and experiential techniques. On the Final day of the workshop a grand performance was put up for the parents and family members to thunderous applause and fabulous reviews. Parents gave tremendously positive feedback stating that their kids could engage themselves in an interesting, fun and challenging activity during their Diwali vacation
