SCREENPLAY WRITING COURSE AT CARMEL COLLEGE

A 30-hour short term certificate course in screenplay writing was offered by the Department of English of Carmel  College of Arts,, Science and Commerce,Nuvem recently. The contact programme was held between 14-16 November  in the college campus. The resource person was Mr. Naveen K. Gupta, Media Controller, IGNCA, New Delhi and alumnus of FTII, Pune. The course included watching cult films, discussing them, and learning how to write premise, pitch and treatment for a story. The participants included writers in Marathi, Konkani, Hindi and English. In a brief inaugural, Ms. Roxana Singh, Head of Department, spoke about the genesis of the course. Principal, Dr. Sr. Aradhana A.C. gave the welcome address. Dr. Brian Mendonca, course coordinator, introduced Mr. Gupta. The participants will now write the treatment of a story of their own, supported by online mentoring.
