With an objective to create the necessary ecosystem to develop entrepreneurial skills among students, a women Centric Workshop was organised by the Department of Chemistry, Carmel College for Women, Nuvem- Goa, in collaboration with Goa State Innovation Council (GSInC).
Fr. Kinley D’cruz, Director Don Bosco Fatorda, in his key note address stressed on gender equality in entrepreneurial skills. Ms. Jyothi Karandikar, founder Stademy, mentored the students on the “Strategies for Problem Solving, Creativity & Innovation”. Mr. Nigel Sequeira, founder Trioog – Australia, interacted with the students through a Skype lecture. The process of converting an Idea to Enterprise was elucidated by Ms. Suwarna Surlekar, Director, Codewell Computers. Mr. Tushar Sawant guided the students on various Government Funds and Schemes assistance for starting up.
Mr Sudip Faldesai, Project Officer –GSInC, highlighted on the objectives of ‘Goa State Innovation Council and Virtual Innovation Register (VIR)’. Mr. Jeffrey Viegas, Teacher Coordinator of the programme, proposed vote of thanks in the concluding session.
The program was highly appreciated by the 450 participants in terms of entrepreneurship skill development. The students felt very passionate to turn their innovative ideas into reality.
