The Diamond Jubilee year of Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce for Women kickstarted with Carmel Beats – a musical evening held on the College ground on 31st January 2024. Students’ Council and the PTA of Carmel College, Nuvem Goa, organized the event. The event began with a solemn prayer followed by the Manager of the college, Sr. Shanti Cardozo AC, declaring the event open. Kay Fernandes, Ezekiel Gomes, and Zenia Fernandes set the tone with their anchoring. The musical extravaganza with DJs Vishal and Doel entertained the crowd throughout the evening. Flash mobs by students of Carmel College led by Kajal Jadhav and Evangeline Tulsimani enthralled the dancers and music lovers. The Carmel ground was abuzz with scintillating music, exciting games (including ‘Queen of Sheeba’), human chain, spot prizes, and food counters to satiate the taste buds. Carmel Beats was a fund-raising event for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the college coordinated by the Diamond Jubilee committee. Sponsors included Alila Diwa Goa, Nita Noronha, 3 Kings Venue, Ascend Financial and Insurance Solutions, Elaine Araujo, Isla Margarita Family Restaurant, and Heritage Village Resort and Spa. The smooth and orderly conduct of the event showcased the organization’s capabilities and leadership qualities of the Carmel staff and students. The Head of the Institution, Dr. Sr. Maria Lizanne A.C., expressed her gratitude to all at the end of the event.
