As a part of the Community Outreach Programme, the Konkani department faculty along with 18 students went on a visit to Nazareth Home, Navelim. The said home, houses 23 senior citizens cared for by the nuns. These inmates are all women who are under the loving care of the nuns as their Family members  are either abroad or unable to look after and give them time.

They were served snacks by the students, followed by a Kotti fugdi dance performance. The students and staff sang various Konkani kantaram, dulpods, manddos for them and the senior citizens joined the group in a dance. The students put ‘Parkonni’ which were enthusiastically answered by them.

Later a game of passing the parcel was organised for them. After spending quality time with them the students left the place taking their blessings, and spreading a cheer and smile on their faces. Students realized that their elderly grandparents, neighbours have to be cared for since the only gift we can give them is our love and time.
