Spectra 2026

The Department of Psychology, Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce forWomen, Nuvem, hosted Spectra 2026, a state-level inter-collegiate Psychology festival, on August 29. Held under the theme ‘Exploring the Colours of Emotions’, the festival brought together students from eight colleges across Goa. The event was held with the support of YWCA Goa (Young Women’s Christian Association) as its title sponsor. The day-long event featured a range of on-stage and off-stage competitions, providing participants with opportunities to demonstrate their creativity, communication skills, teamwork and understanding of psychology. The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation and lively interaction among students from the various colleges. The chief guest, Ms. Mayalin Naronha, Director of Monovikas English Medium School, spoke about the importance of recognising and understanding emotions in everyday life. Following a day of competition, Dempe College of Arts & Science emerged as the overall winners of Spectra 2026. PES College of Arts and Science, Ponda, secured the second position, while St. Xavier’s College Mapusa bagged the third position. The winning team was awarded a trophy, gold medals and a cash prize. The festival was also marked by the enthusiastic involvement of the students of the Department of Psychology, whose initiative, dedication and teamwork contributed significantly to the successful conduct of Spectra 2026. The event concluded with the
valedictory ceremony and prize distribution, bringing to a close a day of competition and
celebration of psychology among students from across the state.
