The Department of Konkani, Carmel College, organized the celebration of the birth anniversary of the eminent Konkani writer Shenoi Goembab on 23 June 2026 in UGCR 05. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Assistant Professor Ms. Pooja Sangodkar, who welcomed the students and provided an overview of the life and contributions of Shenoi Goembab. T.Y. Konkani students presented a PowerPoint presentation highlighting his life, literary works, and achievements. S.Y. Konkani students Ms. Ritisha Fernandes and Ms. Beverly Varghese read selected essays from ‘Bhurgeancho Ixtt’. Ms. Queenie Viegas, Head of the Department of Konkani, welcomed the First-Year Konkani students and spoke about the academic, literary, and cultural activities organized by the department. The programme concluded by paying tribute to the rich literary legacy of Shenoi Goembab and inspiring students to promote Konkani language and literature.
