The Department of Economics, in association with EcoVista, organised an Alumni Connect session titled “Lessons Beyond the Classroom: An Alumna’s Professional Journey into Business Journalism” on 8th August 2026. Alumna Debrah Gomes, Journalist at Thomson Reuters, Bengaluru, shared her inspiring professional journey, valuable workplace experiences, and insights into the dynamic field of business journalism. She encouraged students to develop curiosity, communication skills, resilience, and a sense of purpose while building their careers. The interactive session offered practical guidance, motivated students to explore diverse opportunities, and strengthened the lasting bond between the institution, its alumni, and current students through meaningful engagement.
