The Department of Commerce organized Vanamahotsava – Carers of the Soil on 15 July 2026 to mark the occasion and sensitize students to sustainable environmental practices. Dr. Manju T.K. spoke on the interconnection between soil, health, medicinal plants, and holistic well-being. Students presented plants from their surroundings, explaining their medicinal properties and home-remedy uses, followed by sapling distribution for plantation, creating hands-on soil-care engagement. The activity enhanced students’ ecological and health awareness, provided practical experience in tree planting and soil care, and deepened their understanding of Ayurvedic principles. It fostered environmental stewardship and civic responsibility among participants.
