Activity Overview
The Postgraduate Department of Food Technology, Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce organised a guest lecture on “Careers in Testing, Inspection, Research and Training†on 25th September 2025. The session was delivered by Ms. Ruperi Farjand, Quality In-Charge, Envirocare Labs Pvt. Ltd. Ms. Farjand introduced the students to the history, ethos, and mission of Envirocare Labs, highlighting its reputation as a NABL-accredited, multi-disciplinary testing and research facility. She provided insights into the company’s state-of-the-art laboratories located at Thane, Maharashtra and Verna, Goa. She elaborated on the various career prospects in the areas of food, water, and environmental testing. She also emphasised workforce inclusion and diversity, which are integral to Envirocare’s organisational culture.
The session was further enriched by experiences shared by Carmel College alumni, currently working at Envirocare Labs — Ms. Anoushka Mapari, Mr. Clayton Lobo, Ms. Crispica Rebello, Ms. Samiksha Khanolkar, Ms. Shriya Gaunekar, and Ms. Valanka Dsouza. They reflected on their professional journey, the advantages of working in the industry, opportunities for learning, and scope for personal and career growth at Envirocare. The event provided students with valuable exposure to real-world career opportunities, bridging academics and industry expectations. It also served as a motivating platform for students to interact with successful alumni and understand the diverse professional avenues in testing and research.
