Objective(s) of the Activity:

  1. To provide undergraduate students with a conceptual understanding of the fundamental principles of Biochemistry.
  2. To highlight the multidisciplinary applications of Biochemistry in medicine, biotechnology, environmental science, and allied life sciences.
  3. To create awareness about career pathways and higher education opportunities in Biochemistry and Life Sciences.
  4. To guide students regarding the GU-ART (Goa University MSc Entrance) examination, including application procedures and preparation strategies.

 Activity Overview:

The Department of Chemistry organized a guest lecture titled “Biochemistry: Principles, Applications and Emerging Scope” on January 9, 2026, at UGCR 19, Carmel College of Arts, Science & Commerce for Women, Nuvem, Goa.

The session was delivered by Dr. Amrita Pradeep Kharangate, Assistant Professor (Biochemistry), School of Chemical Sciences, Goa University. The resource person possesses extensive academic and research experience in Biochemistry.

The lecture focused on core biochemical principles, interdisciplinary applications, emerging research areas, and career opportunities. A dedicated segment was devoted to the GU-ART MSc entrance examination, covering eligibility, syllabus, and preparation strategies.
