As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the NSS Unit of Carmel College of Arts, Science & Commerce for Women, Nuvem-Goa organised a Tiranga Rally and a Tiranga Rangoli Competition on 13th August 2025.
The rally commenced from Carmel College at 9:30 a.m., with 54 NSS volunteers and four Programme Officers ie Ms. Anette Gomes, Dr. Glenis Mendonca, Ms Pooja Yadav and Ms Ashwini Kumar participating. The participants raised spirited patriotic slogans and played patriotic songs along the route, creating an atmosphere of unity and pride. The rally halted at Mae Dos Pobres High School, Nuvem, where NSS volunteers interacted with the school students on the importance of the National Flag. The Programme Officer Dr. Glenis Mendonca engaged the school students in an interactive session about the significance of the Tiranga. After the interaction, the rally returned to the college premises.
The Tiranga Rangoli Competition was held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with nine teams (each comprising three students) participating. The theme for the competition was Tiranga, and the participants showcased their creativity through beautiful and intricate rangoli designs. The Rangoli Competition was coordinated by Programme Officers; Dr. Janet Mascarenhas, Ms Nicole Coutinho, Ms. Vinita D’sa and Ms Blanche Vaz. The entries were evaluated by three judges, representing the Arts, Science, and Commerce streams. The judges were Ms Gladys D’Souza (Commerce), Ms Kim Rodrigues (Science) and Ms Nidhi Naik (Arts). Prizes were awarded to the first and second place winners.
The events successfully instilled a sense of patriotism among students and strengthened the spirit of the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative
