As part of the POTI (Protection of Ocean, Trees & Inhabitants) Project, a clothes collection drive was organized from 14th to 26th July 2025, by the Department of Psychology with the goal of supporting the vocational efforts of Anyay Rahit Zindagi (ARZ). The initiative aimed to contribute raw material for ARZ’s upcycling unit, where old clothes are transformed into marketable products by women survivors of trafficking.

Over the span of two weeks, students, faculty, and staff came together to support the cause, resulting in the generous donation of:

  • 83 jumbo bags of clothes
  • 2 large suitcases filled with garments

The response from the college community was overwhelming and reflected a collective spirit of empathy and solidarity. Donated clothes included sarees, kurtas, jeans, T-shirts, and other usable materials suitable for repurposing.

The collected items were carefully sorted and packed by student volunteers and handed over to ARZ.

This drive was not only an act of giving but also an exercise in sustainable development and social responsibility, encouraging students to think beyond charity and towards empowerment-based support. The initiative demonstrated how small efforts from educational institutions can contribute meaningfully to community transformation.
