The Department of Konkani of Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce for Women, Nuvem celebrated the birth anniversary of esteemed Konkani writer Shenoi Goembab on 23rd June 2025 in UGCR 14. Assistant Professor Pooja Sangodkar provided insights into the life and literary contribution of Shenoi Goembab and advised students to emulate his virtues of humility and self-respect.
Tanisha Colaco, a Third Year Konkani student, read some selected essays from Shenoi Goembab’s book ‘Bhurgeancho Ixtt’. On this occasion, Professor Vishvapratap Pawar welcomed the first year Konkani students and spoke about the various activities that the Konkani department organizes every year. Head of the department, Assistant Professor Quennie Viegas, Assistant Pofessor Ms. Nidhi Naik was present.20 students participated in the event.
