The Department of English of Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce for Women- Nuvem,  hosted an Internship Orientation ably supported by Goa Water Stories on July 1st, 2025 in the college auditorium. The Orientation comprised of introducing the students of TYBA (English) and SYBA (English Major and Minor), with the prospect of doing Internships with Goa Water Stories.

The curation of Goa Water Stories (GWS) brings together diverse stakeholders, institutions, students, researchers, academics, writers, artists and experts, facilitating critical thinking on water. Through workshops, colloquiums and presentations at libraries, colleges, universities, museums and galleries, this group develops articulation and initiates a hyperlocal and public dialogue on various aspects of Goa’s water heritage. Using a multi-dimensional and inclusive lens drawing on research, visualisation and storytelling, they attempt to co-created this discourse on Goa’s rich water heritage towards finding sustainable and just solutions to manage our collective water resources for future generations.

The curator Mr. Wency Mendes was present on the occasion, and introduced the aims and objectives of GWS. There was a presentation made by the scholars and previous interns of GSW. Mr. Ryan Bhengra, Ms. Shivranjana Rathore and Ms. Elisha D’Souza (a TYBA Carmel College student) made interesting presentations on their own Water Stories. All these stories were shown to the students from their official website https://goawaterstories.livingwatersmuseum.org/home

The interaction was very engaging and fruitful. Around fifteen students showed an interest to carry out an internship with GSW. The program ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Glenis Mendonca, Head, Department of English.
