As a part of the practical curriculum of Semester II Botany-Major course (BOT-100: Fundamentals of Botany), a field study trip was organized to Chandreshwar Parvat on 25th March, 2025. Twenty students accompanied by Ms. Meena Miranda Verdes and Ms. Pratiksha Dabolkar, Faculty of the Botany Department, trekked a distance of about 1 km. along the road to Chandreshwar Parvat at Paroda, Quepem, Goa studying the plant diversity and corelating theoretical knowledge to field observation.

At the assembly point and then as the group trekked along the road, plants growing in the vicinity were discussed with reference to their local name, botanical name, distinguishing field characters and uses. A total of 40 naturally growing wild species of plants which included trees, shrubs, herbs and climbers belonging to the plant groups bryophytes, pteridophytes and angiosperms were recorded.

Students were later guided to prepare a field report with reference to the plants recorded during the field study trip. The trip was a very enriching experience for the students.
