EcoVista – The Economics Club, in association with the NSS Unit and with the support of the Goa Forest Department, organised “Yo Re, Yo Re Pavsa”, a monsoon-themed celebration of Goan cuisine, folk traditions and flora.
The programme featured community stalls offering traditional delicacies and local produce, including patoleo, holle, locally grown rice, prawn molho and pickles. The Goa Forest Department donated 100 saplings of custard apple, guava, hog plum, kokum and jamun, which were distributed among students, staff and community members.
A live demonstration of making mollam from coconut palm leaves showcased the skills and traditional knowledge of local Goan women. EcoVista members also organised an exhibition-cum-sale of traditional Goan food, gaining practical experience in planning, pricing, presentation, teamwork and customer interaction. A monsoon-themed Antakshari added a lively cultural element to the event.
The programme successfully promoted community engagement, appreciation of Goan heritage, environmental awareness and experiential learning. It benefited 73 students, 13 staff members and four vendors, with a total participation of 90.
