The Department of Hindi, Carmel College, Nuvem, organised a programme to commemorate Tulsidas Jayanti and Premchand Jayanti on 7th August 2026 in the college Auditorium from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. The programme featured speeches on the life and literary contributions of Tulsidas and Premchand, Ramcharitmanas chaupai recitation.
Two competitions were organised: Poster Making on “Goswami Tulsidas: Life and Literary Contribution” and Story Reading, with 17 students participating. Suhani Kumari (TYBA) secured First Place in Poster Making, while Rehea Siqueira (FYBCom) and Krutika Dabolkar (SYBA) jointly secured Second Place. In Story Reading, Vedha Chari (TYBA) secured First Place and Tamanna (SYBA) secured Second Place. The programme concluded with prize distribution and a vote of thanks. The programme provided students with an opportunity to appreciate Hindi literature and showcase their creativity and literary skills.
