Master of Arts (M.A. Psychology)
The Masters of Arts in Psychology programme is designed in accordance with our motto and is affiliated to Goa University.
Programme Specific Outcomes for M.A Psychology
Upon completion of the M.A Psychology Programme, students will be able to:
- Apply evidence-based interventions and prevention strategies across diverse populations and contexts.
- Demonstrate skills of interviewing, case history formulation, and report writing in mental health settings.
- Categorize symptoms and understand the clinical presentation of psychological disorders according to DSM V.
- Use assessment tools, effectively integrate clinical interventions, and design appropriate treatment plans.
The Course Objectives:
To make students aware of the recent trends in Psychology.
To give students an experiential set-up to learn skills in counseling and Clinical Psychology.
The M.A students are encouraged to understand the complex nature of counseling as a profession and are influenced to contribute towards the well-being of our society.
The students themselves are encouraged to explore their own potential and skills. This in turn will enhance their physical and mental well- being ,leading to overall growth..
Our Alumni of Post graduate Department of Psychology have moved into challenging jobs as school counsellors, responsible posts in NGOs and as teachers. Some have pursued further studies and still others are stationed abroad.

Eligibility
All students seeking admission to Post Graduate Courses must mandatorily answer Entrance Exam as per the Goa University Admission Ranking Test (GU-ART)
For being eligible for admission to the programme leading to the degree of the Masters of Arts in Psychology candidate must have passed the examination with Bachelor degree from Goa University or any other recognized University with a minimum of 40% marks.
Students obtaining degree certificates from recognized universities other than Goa University will require to obtain a Provisional Eligibility Certificate from Goa University together with a no objection certificate and a character certificate from the last college attended by them.
