First recipient of the ‘State Best Teacher Award in Higher Education Category for the year 2015. The award was bestowed upon Dr. Borkar by the Chief Minister of the Goa state on the Goa Liberation Day 19^th Dec, 2015; in recognition of his excellence in field of higher education, community outreach and outstanding merit.
