At Carmel College, the Department of Physics provides a strong foundation in Physics so as to prepare students for future educational and career challenges. The experienced faculty members of the physics department are passionate about teaching and committed to equipping the students to meet the challenges.

The laboratory program being an integral part of physics course, our well-equipped laboratory with ample instruments and experienced faculty makes an ideal place to measure and explore science. As a measure of good practice, Laboratory Facility is made available to students during their free time for practice and learning. Dedicated and experienced faculty members have consistently provided good academic record resulting 75 % of our student to go for higher studies.
For enrichment of the subject, the faculty organises study tours / national/ state level programmes. Students get an exposure to Experimental Demonstrations of Physics Concepts by Nationally reputed Physicists, Night SKY Observations etc. Department has co-ordinated with Goa University, IAPT(Indian Association of Physics Teachers), Inter-University Accelerator Centre, New Delhi to organize activities like Refresher Courses, Annual Conventions, Workshops and National Seminars
The college is a designated center for the conduct of National Graduate Physics Examination (NGPE). Students are encouraged to answer these exams.
