 Objective(s) of the Activity:

  1. To promote inclusivity by providing a platform for differently-abled adults to showcase their vocational skills.
  2. To sensitize students towards community engagement and the capabilities of individuals with special needs.
  3. To strengthen collaborative ties between the Department of Psychology and community-based institutions.

 Activity Overview:

The Department of Psychology, in collaboration with the Department of Adult Independent Living and Vocational Training Centre of the Gujarati Samaj Special School, organized a two-day Exhibition-cum-Sale on 4th and 5

th December 2025 below the Admin Block. The exhibition featured a wide range of handmade products crafted by differently-abled adults, including candles, festive décor, accessories

, tailoring items a

nd utility products. Students and staff members enthusiastically visited the stalls, interacted with the representatives from the Vocational Training Centre, and learned about the skill development initiatives undertaken for the trainees. The event aimed to promote social awareness, inclusivity and dignity of labour, while also supporting the vocational development of the adults from the centre.

Outcomes of the Activity:

  1. Increased awareness among students regarding the abilities, creativity and vocational skills of differently-abled adults.
  2. Enhanced student sensitivity toward inclusion and community outreach.
  3. Strengthened institutional collaboration with the Gujarati Samaj Special School.
  4. Sale proceeds directly supported the vocational training initiatives of the centre, contributing to community welfare.
