Activity Overview:
As part of our experiential learning initiative, a field trip was organized to NV Eco Farm for students to study how eco-friendly agricultural practices are combined with marketing strategies. The main objective was to understand how sustainable products are positioned, promoted, and sold in today’s competitive market while maintaining environmental balance.
79 students of SY BCom and FY BA/ BSc studying MC paper, Marketing for Beginners, accompanied by two teachers visited the farm. The students were taken for guided tour of 45 minutes and shown the various amenities available at the farm. The farm has a medicinal plant garden, butterfly garden, a natural swimming pool and cottages besides adventure sports to attract tourism. There is a nursery too when plants are sold at very reasonable rates. They promote tourism by offering flexible packages, which includes meals, as per the needs of the visitors. They also give concessions to students. The farm uses social media platforms, farm visits, for awareness creation.
Outcomes of the Activity:
- Students gained firsthand exposure to green marketing practices.
- The visit reinforced classroom concepts like product, price and promotion in marketing.
