An Experiential Learning Field Trip was organised on Thursday, 11th September 2025 for the T.Y.B.Com. (Business Management) students as part of the CBM-321 Supply Chain and Logistics Management (Minor) (VET) Course of the B.Com. Programme.

A total of 27 students, accompanied by two faculty members, participated in the field trip. The objective of the trip was to provide students with first-hand experience of how the supply chain is managed in both manufacturing and service-based organisations.

To understand the functioning of the supply chain in a manufacturing unit, the students first visited M/S GMI Zarakh Moulders Pvt. Ltd., an industrial rotomoulding solutions company incorporated in 1995. The company specialises in liquid storage solutions, environmental protection solutions, industrial storage and material handling solutions, as well as custom-built products tailored to customers’ needs. The students were divided into two groups and taken on a guided tour of the factory by Mr. Sachin (Human Resource Manager), Mr. Clyde (Production Manager), and Mr. Jayden (Product Designer). They witnessed how products were manufactured, tested, and stored for delivery.
The students were then taken to Heritage Village Resort & Spa, Arrosim, Cansaulim, to study the functioning of the supply chain in a service-based organisation. This 5-star boutique resort combines the elegance of Portuguese-inspired architecture with modern luxury to create an unforgettable experience. With its diverse amenities, the resort is designed to cater to families, friends, and solo travellers alike, making it a top choice for a coastal getaway.

Students were given a guided tour of the resort premises by Mr. Alvaro Braganza, Ms. Shilpa Shirodkar (Purchasing Manager), and Mr. Siddesh (Human Resource Manager). The tour highlighted how materials are received at the entry gate and then moved to storage. Resort operations were shown to be managed through IDS Software under a centralised purchasing system. Students were also introduced to the various amenities on the property, including the restaurants, gymnasium, salon and spa, swimming pool, and children’s play area.
The visit concluded with a presentation on the supply chain management practices of the hotel, delivered by Mr. Siddesh (Human Resource Manager).
