The Department of Psychology organized an enriching guest lecture titled ‘Body Language, Social Etiquette and Interviewing Skills’ on 25th July 2025. The session was conducted by Ms. Yashu Sharma, a seasoned professional known for her expertise in corporate training and personality development.

Around 100 students, including both undergraduate and postgraduate psychology students, attended the session and benefitted greatly from the insights shared.

Ms. Sharma delivered an insightful and engaging talk, focusing on the importance of body language, social etiquette, and essential workplace skills. She stressed the significance of both soft skills—such as empathy, effective communication, and leadership—and hard skills, including proficiency in tools like Excel and AI platforms.

She provided practical guidance on resume building and introduced students to the functioning of ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), advising them to use simple, clear formats while avoiding overused phrases and clichés. Additionally, she explained the S.T.A.R. method for answering interview questions and shared important do’s and don’ts—such as the need to be punctual, research prospective employers, and remain authentic during interviews. She also touched upon aspects of corporate etiquette, including appropriate grooming, posture, and professional attire in workplace settings.

Ms. Sharma’s talk left students motivated, informed, and better equipped to face professional challenges with confidence and clarity.
