Objectives of the Activity:

  1. To challenge the “hustle culture” mindset by demonstrating the physiological link between rest and high-quality cognitive output.
  2. To provide concrete communication strategies for setting expectations with managers, colleagues, and family members regarding availability.

Activity Overview:

On 26 February 2026, the students of the Post-Graduate Department of Psychology, Carmel College of Arts, Science, and Commerce for Women, Nuvem, Goa, conducted a specialized session on self-care for the healthcare Professionals of Serena Palliative Care, on work life balance.

Participants explored practical strategies to manage professional demands without sacrificing personal well-being and mental health. A significant portion of the session was dedicated to deconstructing the “50/50” myth—the idea that work and life should occupy equal weights at all times.
