National Level Inter Collegiate Event: Athena 2026 Ignites Creativity and Competition at Carmel College, Nuvem

Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce for Women, Nuvem, hosted Athena 2026 – A Festival of Knowledge and Ideas – on 13th of March 2026. The National Level intercollegiate event saw eight institutions — six from Goa and two from neighbouring states — gathered for a day of competition marked by creativity and spirited rivalry. The inaugural session was attended by the Principal, management, and faculty.

Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce for Women, Nuvem, hosted Athena 2026 – A Festival of Knowledge and Ideas – on 13th of March 2026. The National Level intercollegiate event saw eight institutions — six from Goa and two from neighbouring states — gathered for a day of competition marked by creativity and spirited rivalry. The inaugural session was attended by the Principal, management, and faculty.
In her welcome address, The Principal, Dr. Aldina Braganza, highlighted the event’s role in fostering leadership, innovation, and holistic growth among youth. “Platforms like Athena are essential in nurturing leadership, innovation, and holistic development among students;” she said. The event featured a number of competitions across disciplines, with three flagship events headlining the main stage, viz. The Debate, Shark Tank, and Fashion Show. The events showcased eloquence, entrepreneurial flair, and creative expression respectively. Off-stage, teams competed in a Treasure Hunt, Fabric Painting, and Box Theatre, while the Reel Making Competition reflected the event’s contemporary edge.
All events were judged by a panel of faculty, alumni, and external experts, with participants assessed on creativity, originality, presentation, and overall performance. The valedictory ceremony brought the day to a celebratory close, with trophies awarded for first and second place across all categories. The most coveted honour — the Overall Championship Trophy — went to Team Sigma from Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science (Autonomous), whose consistent excellence across events saw them top the points tally. The Runner-Up Trophy was claimed by Team Beta from Rosary College of Commerce and Arts, Navelim, whose all-round performance made them strong contenders throughout.
The Chief Guest Mr. Lyndon Monteiro commended the participants for their creativity and spirit, encouraging them to strive for continued excellence. The organisers thanked the management, judges, volunteers, and participating students whose talent and spirit gave Athena its vitality. Athena 2026 stood as a fitting testament to Carmel College’s commitment to excellence, creativity, and intercollegiate team spirit, leaving a lasting impression on all participants.
