The Department of Psychology, Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce for Women, Nuvem – Goa, in collaboration with Epiphany AI Tech, organized a guest lecture titled “AI in Psychology: The Future in Mental Health Support” on 19th January 2026 from 10.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. at UGCR – 06. The session aimed to provide students with insights into the integration of Artificial Intelligence in mental health services.

The resource person Mr. Yash elaborated on the growing significance of AI-driven tools in psychology, including mental health screening, therapy chatbots, and digital mental health platforms. The talk highlighted how AI can complement traditional psychological practices by improving accessibility, efficiency, and early intervention in mental health care. Ethical considerations, limitations of AI, and the importance of human judgment and empathy in psychological practice were also discussed. The resource person also provided details about an app developed by the company called ChatCouncil.com. It is an AI powered mental health companion designed to offer private, 24/7 emotional support to users who may not be ready or able to seek traditional therapy. The session was interactive, with students actively engaging through questions and discussions, making the lecture informative and thought- provoking.
