 Objectives of the Activity:

To enhance understanding of psychopathology beyond diagnostic labels.

To encourage students to express psychological concepts creatively through visual art.

Activity Overview:

The Post Graduate Department of Psychology organised a poster-making competition titled “Beyond the Label: The Reality of Psychopathology” on 23rd January 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in PG CR 1. The competition aimed to sensitise students to the realities of psychopathology and challenge the stigma and misconceptions associated with mental health disorders.

Participants were encouraged to creatively depict themes related to mental health, psychological disorders, and the importance of understanding individuals beyond diagnostic labels. Students used a variety of artistic elements, symbols, and messages to communicate the emotional, social, and psychological dimensions of psychopathology. Students showcased originality, insight, and a deep understanding of psychological concepts through their posters. The posters were evaluated based on creativity, relevance to the theme, clarity of message, and overall presentation.

 Outcomes of the Activity:

  • Participants gained a deeper, human-centered understanding of psychopathology.
  • Development of creative communication skills in presenting psychological themes.
