Ashawadi Prakashan, Dalgado Konkani Akademi and Deparment of Konkani of Carmel College, Nuvem-Goa jointly organized a one-day national seminar on ‘Spiritual Poetry in Konkani’ on 22 January 2026 in the college auditorium. The seminar was inaugurated by the Principal of Carmel College, Dr. Aldina Brangaza e Gomes, Vice Principal and Head of Konkani Department Ms. Queenie Viegas, President of Dalgado Konkani AKademi Mr. Celso Fernandes, Executive Director of Kavita Trust Mr.Andrew L.D’Cunha, and Editor of Ashawadi Publications Mr.Valley Quadros. Chief Guest Andrew L.D’Cunha mentioned the following in his speech ‘Spirituality goes beyond religion and sheds light on the relationship between the soul and the Supreme Being. Spirituality leads to self-realization’..
It was followed by a book launch ceremony by Ashawadi-publication. The seminar on the theme ‘Spiritual Poems in Konkani’ was chaired by Dr. Chadralekha D’Souza. Four papers were presented in this seminar.Mr. Jason Pinto presented a paper on poems by Father Pratap Naik , Lecturer Anju Sakhardande presented a paper on poems by Prakash Padgaonkar, Pooja Sangodkar presented a paper on poems by Jess Fernandes and Clarence Fernandes presented a paper on poems by Andruel D’cunha.
The Seminar was compered by Lecturer Nidhi Naik and Mr. Vishwapratap Pawar delivered the vote of thanks.
