Candle Making Workshop

 Objective(s) of the Activity:

1. Encourage students to explore creativity through hands on crafting.
2. Teach techniques of candle making (melting wax, adding color/perfume, shaping),
3. Emphasize safety practices. 

 Activity Overview:

The Department of Chemistry, CHEMSPARX Club organised a Candle Making Workshop for students and faculty on 12^th December 2025. The Resource person was Ms. Valanka D’Souza, T.Y.B.Sc Chemistry student who is an entrepreneur having her own small candle making business.

The programme began with Ms. Fatima Gracias, HOD of Chemistry Department, welcoming the students and faculties followed by a power point presentation on Candle Making Workshop: Create your own Art and Business. She further explained the process involved in candle making right from raw materials used, procedure and marketing strategy.

Ms. Valanka demonstrated the procedure of candle making followed by students having a hands-on experience in the preparation. The students were allowed to take home the candles prepared by them.

The workshop ended by presenting a small memento to the resource person Ms. Valanka D’Souza as a token of our love and appreciation.

Outcomes of the Activity:

1. Students created personalized candles.
2. Learned candle-making techniques.
3. Understand safe handling of wax, heats and tools. work together, share ideas and enjoy the process.
4. Gain confidence in crafting
