The history (Major) and (SEC) students from F.Y B.A were taken on a field trip on 25th September, 2025. The students were accompanied by the history faculty Anette Gomes and Abigail Barreto. The students left the college around 9:00 am and the first stop was Chandor wherein the students were briefed regarding the history of Chandor, it serving as the capital of Bhoja and Kadamba dynasty respectively. In Chandor the three spots covered were St Tiago Chapel, Sara Fernandes Indo-Portuguese house and Nandi statue. The owner of the house Ranjeev Fernandes took the students on a tour of his house.

After Chandor the students were taken to Rivona cave which was used by the Buddhist monks and later by the Hindu seers respectively. The next place was the megalithic site of Pansalimal or Usgalimal next to the banks of Kushavati river. The students were shown the different petroglyphs of animals, hunting scenes, mother-goddess, labyrinth, dancing lady etc on the laterite bedrock.

Finally, the last stop of the field trip was Salaulim dam and the transplanted Mahadev temple dating to Kadamba period in the vicinity of the dam. The students were explained how this temple was brought from Curdi and transplanted in Shelpem in 1970’s by the ASI due to the construction of the dam and the fear of submergence therein. The students reached to college around 5pm.
