Activity Overview
Postgraduate Department of Psychology of Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce for Women, Nuvem-Goa, commemorated World suicide Prevention Day on 10 September 2025. The students organised a series of activities to create awareness on campus for all the college students
Firstly, a reel was created on the topic suicide prevention – changing the narrative, the reel was posted on the college social media page to get better access to create awareness. The students also created positive affirmation statements and distributed individually to students around the campus. The aim was to share positive notes and spread cheer during their busy academic schedule.
Ms. Elsa Mascarehnas and Ms. Rizella Almeida had a suicide prevention awareness session for the M.Sc Food Technology and M.com students. The session highlighted key strategies to identify and provide help to close friends and anyone they know who may be at risk of Suicidal behaviour. They also shared resources available free of cost to seek help in such cases.
