Activity Overview
The Post Graduate Department of Psychology organized a field visit to the Carambolim Wetlands on 16th September 2025 as part of the course in Conservation Psychology. The visit aimed to help students understand the psychological aspects of human–nature interaction and the importance of conserving ecological resources. A total of 20 students and 2 faculty members participated in the visit. The resource person for the trail was Mr. Ankush Sahani from WWF, who guided the group through the rich biodiversity of the wetlands.
The field visit was designed as a biodiversity trail, where students could directly observe various species of birds, plants, and aquatic life that thrive in this sensitive ecosystem. Mr. Sahani explained how wetlands act as natural water purifiers, flood buffers, and habitats for migratory birds, thereby highlighting their ecological significance. Through this experiential learning, students gained a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness of human behavior and environmental well-being.
